2008 Parijs-Nice om Mont Ventoux (soort van) te beklimmen

De route voor 2008 Parijs-Nice werd vandaag onthuld.

Verbinding met de Officiële Plaats van het Ras

Stadium 4 zal Ventoux aan de kant Malaucene beklimmen - maar slechts zover als de Post van de Ski van Mont Serein zal gaan. In het verhogingsprofiel hierboven, kunt u Mont Serein over tweederden van de manier omhoog zien. Voor die niet vertrouwd met deze kant van Ventoux, is de kant Malaucene bijna de nauwkeurige zelfde lengte en de moeilijkheid zoals de legendarischere kant Bedoin. Hier zijn een paar stats.

  • Klassieke kant Bedoin: 21.5 kilometers; 1.610 meter verticaal
  • De kant van Malaucene: 21 kilometers; 1.570 meter verticaal
  • 2008 Parijs-Nice: 15 kilometers; 1.090 meter verticaal

Met andere woorden zal de afwerking bijna 500 meter verticaal onder de top van Ventoux zijn. De klim zal geschatte eerste categorie zijn. Terwijl, is Ventoux natuurlijk gewoonlijk Hors Categorie.

De cursus zal door Bedoin, overgaan en zal 3de Categorie Col. DE La Madeleine (niet beroemde Madeleine) op de manier aan Malaucene beklimmen. In feite, als u in de zomer beklimt, maakt deze uitbreiding de perfecte lijn (klim daalt één kant, andere, verbinding terug via Madeleine).

De kaart toont hieronder de volledige klim van Malaucene - u kunt Mont Serein zien.

Ik cirkelde deze kant in Mei 2007. Zie hier voor meer. Er is lang zeer steile rek - ondanks het eindigen niet bij de bovenkant, zal dit nog opwekkend zijn.

Zal is Gelukkigst terwijl het cirkelen van helling. Enthousiaster dan begaafd, is zijn Uitdaging van 2008 (opnieuw) 160.000 meter van verticaal stijgen te cirkelen.

    I am guessing that there will be snow at the top and the road will be impassable at that time of the year. I can recall a lot of Paris-Nice races where there was snow on the ground on the flat stages!

    yes, no doubt because of the snow.

    Note, it even starts well south of Paris this year (a little strange)

    Col de la Croix de Chaubouret looks the biggest climb on stage three. 1re Categorie. Do you know it?

    Yes, St Chamond - Croix de Chaubouret is a famous local climb; I have tagged my photos taken on that way (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pf8468/tags/pn2008/); on that side, some parts of the climb are difficult because there are no hairpins ;-), the road is steep and straight; that is where I plan to go & see them; there’s nothing like seeing the pro riding on a road you know well…makes you really measure how fast they are !

    In Japan the cycling is hilly all the time.
    In 5 years 2003 to 2008, 40,000 km and 600,000 vertical meters.
    168,000 vm was the most in one year (2003) between 2003 and 2008, at age 47-52.
    20 yrs and 160,000 km and 2.5 million vm.
