In Search of Dinosaurs: Lac d’Emosson

By Will • Sep 20th, 2008 • Category: Cycling

After seeing the photos of my cycle up above Lac d’Emosson last week, Doreen was eager to visit.

So we drove to the main dam with the aim of hiking up high and finding the 150 million year old dinosaur tracks.

I received a nice comment from Colin recently.

He mentioned a road up to Col de la Frasse that I had never heard of - so i got the maps out and made a plan.

Lac d’Emosson (and above) via Col des Montets

By Will • Sep 15th, 2008 • Category: Climbs, Cycling, Favorites

One of the best rides from Chamonix. And getting above 2200 metres (over 7200 feet) meant it was full winter gear.

By Will • Sep 3rd, 2008 • Category: Cycling

By Will • Sep 2nd, 2008 • Category: Climbs, Cycling, Juras

Mont Tendre is the highest point in the Swiss Jura mountains at 1,679 metres.

A pretty epic day!

There are loads of truly great climbs in central Switzerland which I have yet to explore. But today I rode two of the highest - amazing.

Long Tour de Vuache

By Will • Aug 24th, 2008 • Category: Cycling, Hiking, Juras

One of the great rides from Geneva - 127 kms and about 1700 metres (5600 feet) of climb.

Given that I am now a member of Team Poseur, I was of course more worried about eating than riding. So we stopped for lunch at the Chateau de Clermont for a three course feast - very civilized.

I Have Signed With Team Poseur - Charlatan**

By Will • Aug 23rd, 2008 • Category: Cycling

Times have taken their toll on the once mighty Poseur team. You now only find them at the best coffee shops and bakeries, always riding easy and never taking the lead.
