A Col du Tourmalet mountain top finish? I must have died and gone to cycling heaven. Yes, it is the Queen stage of the 2010 Tour de France. Do not miss this.
If the finish was closer to the top of a mountain, and there wasn’t Tourmalet next week, this might be called the Queen stage of the 2010 Tour.
For anyone that has never seen a stage, this gives a pretty good feel of how much fun it is …. especially the Publicity Caravan.
The first mountain stage of the 2010 Tour de France. This stage is an “amuse bouche” (appetizer) for the Alps.
A great day watching the Epic stage 17 of the Tour de France.
With five climbs and some of the steepest stretches in the entire Tour, this stage (along with Ventoux) will be the toughest test of the race.
It’s been over 40 years since these magnificent climbs last appeared in the Tour de France.
While many rested their sore legs in the hotel, Ralph and I went to watch the Tour de France at the top of Col du Galibier.
As the last big mountain day, this stage could decide the entire race.
