The final day of our mini Swiss Alps cycling trip. O último dia da nossa viagem de bicicleta mini Alpes suíços.
We had driven from Gstaad to Villars yesterday - and had to take the long way as the Col de la Croix is still closed due to snow. Nós tinha conduzido a partir de Gstaad Villars ontem - e teve que assumir o longo caminho que o Col de la Croix ainda está fechada devido à neve.
But it was our cycling goal, so we decided to have a look from the Villars side. Mas foi a nossa meta de bicicleta, por isso, decidiu dar uma vista de olhos a partir do Villars lado. This is a giant climb (20 kilometres 1,370 metres ascent - about 4,500 feet). Este é um gigante subida (20 quilómetros de 1370 metros de subida - cerca de 4500 pés). But today our goal was just a leisurely ride up the far more scenic top half starting in the ski resort of Villars. Mas hoje o nosso objectivo era apenas uma carona até o lazer muito mais cênica metade superior começando no resort de esqui Villars.
Another perfect day surrounded by the Alps. Outro dia perfeito rodeado pelas Alpes. Although there was a barrier down blocking cars, the route had obviously been ploughed. Embora não houvesse uma barreira estabelece o bloqueio carros, obviamente, a via tinha sido lavrado. As we got higher, the snow steadily increased but as we reached 1700 metres I was hopeful of reaching the top. Tal como nós temos mais elevadas, a neve aumentado regularmente, mas como chegámos a 1700 metros fiquei esperançoso de alcançar o topo.
Suddenly around a bend the road was blocked with a metre of snow! De repente em torno de um dobrar a estrada foi bloqueada com um metro de neve! But we were nearly there, so we left the bikes and hiked to the top. Mas nós fomos quase lá, por isso, deixou a motos e aumentado acentuadamente para o topo.
The only Col sign is a plaque (in the above link) but it was buried under piles of snow and I wasn’t sure where to dig O único sinal Col-se de uma placa (no link acima), mas ele foi sepultado sob montes de neve e eu não estava certo quando a cavar

Crazy snow, pretty weird to see the road end like that and the snow suddenly start!!! Crazy neve, bastante sinistra para ver como o fim da estrada e que de repente começar a neve! Great pics though Great pics embora
Jamie has his first 2 wheeler( with training wheels) and would like to know why Uncle Will does not wear a helmet! Jamie tem a sua primeira wheeler 2 (com rodinhas) e gostaria de saber porque é que não Tio Will desgaste um capacete!
Nice little getaway Will! Nice pouco Will férias! We’re having sunny weather with the temps close to 80 degrees today. Estamos tendo o sol com temps perto de 80 graus hoje.
