Col du Pillon, Col des Mosses Loop

Bike route 341614 – powered by Bikemap

Not the hardest ride (or easiest) …. but almost the entire route is above 1000 metres and it is beautiful.

A couple beers too many last night meant I struggled, but luckily Martin wasn’t in a hurry. Geneva was cloud covered all day, and we endlessly congratulated ourselves on getting above/away from the clouds and into the sunny mountains.

There are a few ways to make this route harder or longer, for example starting down in Aigle or detouring to Col de la Croix. But the mapped loop is superb and has two very interesting medium climbs.

Enough said: A few photos:

is Happiest while cycling uphill. More enthusiastic than talented, his 2013 Challenge is to cycle a 150 Cols (mountain passes), slowly -- and to just enjoy.

  1. superbes montagnes, et rouler à + de 1000m à cette saison, c’est courageux !

PS: how much is “a couple too many” ??
    ;-)

  2. What a great site you have! Fantastic resource! I was just up at the Emosson Dam today. Chilly on the descent. I would like do do this ride this week: Col Croix, Pillon, Mosses -loope http://www.cycling-challenge.com/col-du-pillon-col-des-mosses-loop/ and wondered what you did for ride time leaving a car in Aigle or Ollon? Thanks for your great tips! -nina
