Col du Sac

Dall'invio del mio programma di Jascensioni ciclanti della montagna di ura, Ho avuto due conversazioni per quanto riguarda questo itinerario sopra Farges.
Ho detto ad uno dei miei soci ciclanti Barry che lo avessi arrampicato di alcuni anni prima, ma dopo una certa discussione con Gilles qui, Ho realizzato che non ho conosciuto la parte superiore dell'itinerario - e non è in mia bibbia ciclante di ascensione del Altigraph.
Così di un'oscurità, ma del giorno non troppo freddo, ho deciso studiare.
Ho parcheggiato in Chancy, la punta molto occidentale della Svizzera, dal fiume del Rhone in modo da otterrei l'ascensione completa. L'ascensione reale comincia a Farges sopra ancora un altro strada bella e virtualmente automobile-libera del Jura in nessun posto, con le viste mai-miglioranti delle alpi distanti.
Sì, è possibile per arrampicarsi per mezzo di una bici della strada, ma a circa 1.100 tester la strada convince i poveri graziosi. E a 1250 tester, passare ad ALTO richiede una bici della montagna.
A circa 1.250 tester la strada pavimentata conclusa ed io hanno funzionato in neve. Non ero sicuro dove la colonna reale era, ma deciso esplorare. Odio arrampicare una colonna e non trovare il segno alla parte superiore. Al lotto di parcheggio, a destra da un segno della foresta, ho trovato una strada della ghiaia di qualità larga e buona ed ho continuato a arrampicarmi. Ci era una punta giusta di ghiaccio e di neve in modo da era andare lento.
Dopo un istante ho realizzato che potrei vedere l'eccedenza l'altro lato del Juras nella piccola pattino-stazione di Menthieres. Un poco ulteriore e Voilà, ho trovato il segno della colonna (segua i segni per Chalet du Sac).
Assomiglia esso è possibile alla bici della montagna giù l'altro lato in Menthieres. L'anno forse prossimo un ciclo gigante che rinvia dalla Col de la Faucille o da Col du Puthod? Giro grande e discesa GELIDA.

Dis-moi, elle fait combien de km cette montée jusqu’à 1380m? Et donc on est obligé de prendre un “hybrid bike” pour “aller chercher le panneau”?
Oui - un VTT ou Hybrid est obligatoire apres 1,250 metres. Mais meme plus bas il est recommendé
Yes, a hybrid or Mountain bike is necessary after 1,250 metres but even lower it is recommended
depuis Farges, il est environ 11.5 kms jusqu’au col.
From Farges it is about 11.5 kms until the Top.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m just now checking out yours and I’m feeling rather out of shape reading and checking out the pics. It’s my dream to one day climb the French Alps. I did three century rides in the mountains of North Carolina this year but I’m sure they were nothing like the Alps. I’ll keep checking back and add you to my blogroll.

Donald here again. I was reading more and looking through your pictures of climbs you’ve completed in your challenge. I’m wondering do you stick to the same bike… it looks like you have a different frame/model in some pics. Do you change up for weather conditions as well as whatever you feel like riding? Also- do you have a favorite climb?

At this point I have more bikes than hairs on my head.
Yes, I change to a hybrid or a VTT (mountain bike) as it gets wetter and colder. All the climbs I have done recently have been with a Hybrid as I have been running into snow and ice. I also have a lot of great trails near me house - so I often do quick VERY hilly short rides from home that are part road, part trails.
But all summer I was on a road bike.
Favourite? Maybe Col de l’Iseran - South side the day before they opened the road to cars - in June. I had first seen the road under 10 feet of snow while sitting on a ski lift at Val d’Isere and I thought wow that looks special - without realizing how famous it was.
Voilà, today I climbed up this lovely quiet col despite there was a lot of snow because of the two last days. Very dangerous descent! And The route to Farges broke my legs
Now I’m very motivated to discover the other cols in the jura!

il y a beaucoup de jolis cols en juras , on peut eviter Faucille et Givrine ( et les voitires)
There are lots of great climbs in the juras, no need to climb Col de la Faucille or Col de la Givrine ( thus avoiding cars).
Oui la descente est vraiement fou. J’ai descendu au pieds aujourd’hui.
Yep, descending is crazy. I had to walk for part of my descent today.

And yes just getting to the start - Farges - is challenging. (oui juste pour gagner Farges est assez difficile)
I think I was at about 1 km from the top. I took right as you said, climbed during 500 meters but I was too afraid to keep riding and actually you can’t ride on ice. So I will have to return! Fot the other climbs I think it’s better to take the car a little bit because otherwise it does quiet big loops and we have to pass through the city…
