June 10th - Well it seemed almost impossible to top the Col d’Iseran but the famous Galibier did just that. 10 de junho - Bem, parecia quase impossível para o início do Col d'Iseran mas o famoso Galibier fez exatamente isso. This is a legendary climb and at 2,640 meters is just lower than Col d’Iseran and will feature again in ths years Tour de France. We drove up Galibier from the East side through the most beautiful valley. Nós dirigimos até Galibier de Leste através de lado o mais belo vale. The climb is relentless but the last 8 or so kms are terrifying just to drive. A subida é implacável, mas os últimos 8 kms nem tão pouco são assustadores para a condução. From Lautaret it is 8kms to the top of Galibier. Do Lautaret ela 8kms é a parte superior do Galibier. The road winds straight up a mountain and seems to go right over it. O traçado sinuoso em linha reta até uma montanha, e parece ir direito sobre ele. The last few kms are simple astounding. Os últimos são simples kms espantosa. With about a km to go there is a monument to Henri Desgranges - unfortunately the dutch guy I asked to take the picture got his own thumb instead. Com cerca de um km de ir lá é um monumento de Henri Desgranges - infelizmente o dutch guy me pediu para tirar a fotografia começou seu próprio polegar vez. Here there is a tunnel through the mountain for cars - while cyclist go straight up to the tiny overpass. Like yesterday, I felt strong up the climb but found the last steep 500 meters very hard as the altitude, the slope, and the effort took its toll. Tal como ontem, senti-me forte, mas encontrou-se a subida acentuada dos últimos 500 metros muito difícil como a altitude, o declive, e teve o seu esforço portagem. At the top me and about 30 Flemish riders basked in our little glory. No topo mim e cerca de 30 pilotos basked Flamengo na nossa pouca glória. I descended back to Lautaret and met Doreen.
