Escaping the Fog

Geneva is surrounded by a lake and mountains and sometimes (like today) gets fogged in — even though it is sunny everywhere else nearby.

Today’s ride started from home in freezing cold, pea soup fog. After about 20 kilometers I left the Geneva valley around the huge Vuache mountain and started climbing. Glorious sunshine! But only for another 20 kilometres. As I started heading home, right back into the fog. It was like two totally different days.

Total distance 458.3 km Total Ascent: 5,963 metres Total Calories: 16,677
