A great day watching the Epic stage 17 of the Tour de France.
With five climbs and some of the steepest stretches in the entire Tour, this stage (along with Ventoux) will be the toughest test of the race.
It’s been over 40 years since these magnificent climbs last appeared in the Tour de France.
Another fantastic day cycling and watching the Tour de Romandie. My plan was to cycle both side of Col du Marchairuz and then watch the race up top (map at bottom). I brought my photographer today and he filmed my stage victory: (the secret is to leave 2 hours before the peloton).
Excerpt: I was passed by someone that looked suspiciously like Cadel Evans. So I decided to follow him.
Note, in the video , we spoke in French as I don’t speak Australian.
Philippe and I have ridden together twice now. Today, and once with light hail. We have agreed that our third time must include some sun.
