Let me go out on a limb and say this is my absolute favourite climb.
A simple there and back route, up the scenic but not too difficult Col des Montets and Col de la Forclaz.
Wooohooo! The bigger Alps climbs are starting to open.
A pretty huge day. But fun.
I had hoped to cycle up the Jaunpass during the Tour de Romandie a couple of weeks ago, but the climb was canceled due to snow(!) up high.
A perfect day.
Le Semnoz is featured in my favorite cycling movie: “Le Vélo de Ghislain Lambert.”
I have already cycled Col de la Croix Fry in 2009, but I had told Eric so many times what a great early spring climb it is - that he wanted to have a look.
March and April is the best time to do small and medium climbs in the Alps as the weather can be warm, the roads fine, and the surrounding mountains stunningly snow covered.
It’s time to launch my 2009 big climbs map.
Call me stupid but I find it motivating to start each year with an empty map and try and fill it with rides.
Today my bike GPS was worth its weight in gold.
