It is still too early for the high Alps roads to be open. But I thought I’d climb some beautiful roads and see how high I could get.
Many of the most famous climbs in the alps have days where they are closed to motor traffic, reserved for cyclists. Nice.
Col de Tamié would be a good location to watch stage 19 of the 2013 Tour de France.
Col de Pierre Carrée is the highest Col in the north French alps that is open all year – to provide access to Flaine ski station.
A beautiful April day – there may still be skiing at Alpe d’Huez – but the cycling wasn’t bad either.
