The huge mountain massif between Grenoble and Chambéry is the Parc naturel régional de Chartreuse. Beautiful mountains and some great cycling.
Higher, harder, prettier, and a fraction of the traffic of its neighbor Alpe d’Huez.
One doesn’t cycle as much as I do without a loving and supportive wife. So I proudly present the 10 best climbs cycled by my wife!
It’s becoming the summer of beautiful Alpine Lake / Dam rides. But this time I went another 14 kilometres past the dam.
This is one of my very favourite cycling routes. A steep, beautiful climb, surrounded by high mountains.
Perhaps the best ride of the year. Certainly the most beautiful.

I love climbs to Alpine dams/lakes. And the ascent to Lac de Moiry has to be one of the hardest.
