Lac du Bourget and Surrounding Cycling Climbs

I am now eligible to become a “member” of the Confrérie des Fêlés (brotherhood of the crackpots) du Grand Colombier.
Col de la Biche and Col du Grand Colombier are two of the hardest unknown climbs in France. In the Jura mountains, they are both “roads to nowhere” meaning virtually no traffic (I saw 5 cars in over 3 hours on the climbs).
Every year local cyclists shake their heads at cowardly Tour de France organizers that run the Tour right by this Jura giant, but refuse to climb it. It’s just too steep!
