There is a well known “secret” among mountain lovers. During the endless, gray, depressing days this time of year – there is often plenty of sunshine if you just go high enough.
After seeing the photos of my cycle up above Lac d’Emosson last week, Doreen was eager to visit.
So we drove to the main dam with the aim of hiking up high and finding the 150 million year old dinosaur tracks.
I decided to rest my tired cycling legs today and hike up Le Saleve with Doreen.
All the great hairpins from Friday’s ride were now surrounded by snow.
Perfect deep blue sky as we hiked high above Les Arcs – stunning.
Its great having several hiking trails directly from our house up the Saleve mountain to Thuile.
We drove to Courmayeur ski resort in Italy, just the other side of Mont Blanc, just over an hour from home. Great hiking in high alpine valleys, littered with huge glaciers. The photo is of Lake Miage. Touching the back of the lake is the tip of the Miage glacier ( hidden a bit by [...]
