Near Geneva many of the best Nordic Ski locations are at the top of interesting cycling climbs.
I prefer skiing to riding an indoor trainer …..
I hate riding indoors.
But this week I logged 240 kilometers on the indoor trainer, which is more than the rest of my life combined. I just couldn’t get myself to ride out in the awful weather.
At the base of Col de la Colombière, the quaint Savoie village of Le Grand Bornand will host a Tour de France stage for the 5th time in 2009 – the huge mountain stage 17.
Perhaps the best three days of skiing we have ever had.

Maybe next year I will count skiing in my climbing goal!
It’s a lot easier going up a mountain by chair lift than by bicycle.
Another great day of skiing. Today we went to the neighboring La Plagne Ski resort. It is linked to les Arcs by a massive double decker Cable Car that traverses a huge valley. Click here for La Plagne Cycling
