Stage 8 will be the first Alpine stage in the 2010 Tour de France.
An unbelievably steep, but absolutely stunning route.
Painful fun. 174 kilometres, 5000 metres ascent (+16000 feet), over 3 of the most famous climbs in France.
The first mountain stage of the 2010 Tour de France. This stage is an “amuse bouche” (appetizer) for the Alps.
Sometimes just a small detour can lead to amazing sights.
Col du Glandon is one of my very favourite climbs – especially the last three crazy kilometres.
Yes, I enjoyed myself watching stage 5 of the Dauphiné after cycling up to Chamrousse.
Les Gorges de la Nesque is a stunning route starting just 10 kms from the start of Mont Ventoux.
