Video: Col des Glières from the Steep East Side

By • Feb 25th, 2009 • Category: Climbs, Cycling, Snow

A fantastic winter loop up to Col des Glières. In December we did this loop in the opposite direction – details here. But, during winter, doing the ultra steep East side makes a little more sense as it is not cleared as well as the west side – and it’s easier riding uphill on ice than descending.

Anyway, I brought along a domestique to make a little video of the ride. ;)

On the map below, ignore the little loop around Roche-sur-Foron. I forgot feet warmers and we had to search for a local bike shop to get some.

is Happiest while cycling uphill. More enthusiastic than talented, his 2013 Challenge is to cycle a 150 Cols (mountain passes), slowly -- and to just enjoy.
