On a crisp beautiful autumn day, with the good fortune of having Doreen as my support car and photographer we drove the two hours from home and attacked the Grand Daddy of Tour de France climbs: the Col du Galibier. 60.2 kms Le Semnoz dominates beautifuly Lake Annecy. A great 2 hour climb from 400 metres up to 1,700 metres (with a few downhills in the middle to add to the work) was rewarded with a view of Mont Blanc. Total distance 8,073 kms will-davies.com
