This goal is just about perfect I guess. 12,000 would be too much and I’d probably give up. 8,000 would be too easy. 10,000 is hopefully doable, but a real challenge given that I want to do some challenging climbs and (try to) enjoy myself as well. 50.8 km After wet weather and being under-the-weather kept me to 4 off days, today I was raring to go. I joined up with two young guys from a cycling team who attacked every hill. OUCH! At full effort, I was actually slightly stronger than one guy and a little weaker than the other. But my heart rate reached its highest level and the longest time at such high rates ever. June 10th – Well it seemed almost impossible to top the Col d’Iseran but the famous Galibier did just that. This is a legendary climb and at 2,640 meters is just lower than Col d’Iseran and will feature again in ths years Tour de France. We drove up Galibier from the East side through the most beautiful valley. The climb is relentless but the last 8 or so kms are terrifying just to drive.
