To celebrate its 100th Tour de France birthday: A History of the legendary Col du Galibier

Stage 18 visits the roof of the Alps – with three massive climbs including the highest point in the 2011 Tour and the highest mountain top finish in Tour de France history.

Let’s rank the twenty-three biggest Tour de France climbs in terms of “difficulty” and then look at the 10 hardest in more detail.

On the menu:  Three huge climbs including the Tour’s usual annual visit up the legendary Col du Tourmalet as well as a challenging final climb to Luz-Ardiden
