Wow, I am tired!

Attracting several thousand riders, the Time-Megeve cyclosportive is one of the bigger cycling events in France.

I am making good use of the mountain behind me so far this year.

A CHALLENGE to Martin, Barry, Eric (and anyone else):

Come join me on June 29th for La Grand Bo cyclosportif from Le Grand-Bornand.

The plan was to cycle up Col de la Joux Verte.

I knew the road was still closed, but it’s been so warm we thought with mountain bikes that we’d be OK.

Col de Pierre Carrée is a big climb and easily the highest pass in my vicinity that is currently clear of snow.

Yes, the Dauphinée will climb Le Salève up the super steep route from Collonge-Sous-Salève just behind my house.

It is rated category one but features 4 kilometres averaging 12% – with a full kilometre averaging 13%. This is steep!

The Vallée Verte South of Lake Geneva is a beautiful place to get some climbing in while the big Alps are closed. There are quiet, fairly steep climbs everywhere.

I’m an idiot. Last week I put SPD pedals on my hybrid. Today, I arrived in Annecy with no cycling shoes.

Unfortunately the snow was very soft up high and almost impossible to ride on.

So I ended up pushing for several kilometres. Nice hike though. 🙂

I bumped into a Chamoix – sort of a deer. Note the perfectly heart-shaped bum. Happy Valentine’s day.
