If I was transported here asleep, the moment I opened my eyes I would know I was in Switzerland. Beautiful scenery, but somehow tidy and pretty rather than savage. And perfectly surfaced little mountain roads.
This fairly short loop up to Gurnigel in central Switzerland (just south of Fribourg), is not too difficult, but very enjoyable. Quiet and scenic route beside medium-sized Alps.

Weather has been a challenge recently, and I hoped I wouldn’t get stuck in a storm, but the light rain half way up to Gurnigel just kept me cool. No problem.

After reaching Gurnigel, I doubled back briefly and then took a great little ridge road (see map) that was perhaps even quieter, heading towards Guggisberg. From there, a fun descent back towards the start.

A typically lovely little Swiss Alps loop. Nothing crazy. Which is sometimes a good thing. 🙂

On the top of Gurnigel you may try different refreshment. No Bier, no coke, but glass of fresh milk!
bier=beer 🙂
Danke, aber ich verstehe ein bisschen Deutsch 🙂
