Another fantastic day cycling and watching the Tour de Romandie. My plan was to cycle…
I brought my photographer today and he filmed my stage victory: (the secret is to leave 2 hours before the peloton).
Excerpt: I was passed by someone that looked suspiciously like Cadel Evans. So I decided to follow him.
Note, in the video , we spoke in French as I don’t speak Australian.
As luck would have it, I have a cycling friend in St Etienne (today’s Paris-Nice finish). Philippe kindly invited me to come see the stage with him after first exploring the very interesting hills of the Parc Naturel Régional du Pilat by bike.
Woohooo! I cross the finish line at today’s Tour of Switzerland well before the pros – my first stage victory!
My legs needed a day off, but the sirens of the Dauphiné were calling my name.
On a last second whim, I jumped in the car to the base of Col du Granier – the first climb in today’s race.
Here’s Big George Hincapie near the top of the hors categorie Col de Joux Plane
Another great day watching the Dauphinée Libéré.
Today the Dauphinée climbed the Salève, the super steep climb behind my house.
The 62nd Tour de Romandie started today. Romandie (Romandy) is the French region of Switzerland so the entire Tour is near me. Eric, Katy and I went to watch the prologue on the lake front of downtown Geneva.
