Col de Crozet is in the middle of a tiny ski station in the Jura mountains above Geneva.

This is a fantastic climb high above Lake Annecy – worth re-doing on a clear sunny day as views everywhere.
It was overcast all day in Geneva – on the other side of the mountains. A huge cloud wall was on top of the Juras. I was in a little sunny micro climate valley.
The Chamonix tourist office gave me a map with several signed mountain bike routes on it.
I chose the “difficult” red route to Le Tour with a plan to then climb towards Col de Balme as high as possible.
I received a nice comment from Colin recently.
He mentioned a road up to Col de la Frasse that I had never heard of – so i got the maps out and made a plan.

And once finished – starving, Barry and I ordered all-you-can-eat authentic alpine soup from the local chalet restaurant. Barry even offered to cook. Delicious!
The Jungfrau region of the Berner Oberland in the Central Swiss Alps is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also easily the most beautiful place I have ever cycled.
The plan was to cycle up Col de la Joux Verte.
I knew the road was still closed, but it’s been so warm we thought with mountain bikes that we’d be OK.
There is a Grande Randonnée (GR) hiking route along the top of La Vuache and someone had recently asked me if it was do-able by bike.
Today – with Eric and Jason – the idea was to find out.
