I’ve dreamed of doing this gigantic climb for a long time. With 1900 metres of ascent it’s easily the biggest single un-interrupted climb I have done in France.

A scenic, very quiet route – including a long stretch of trails – in the Bauges Alps. Five Cols (although, admittedly I descended to two of them).

Contador and other wimps stop at Verbier. But slow, old guys (me) know that the climb only gets interesting higher up above Verbier.

My first big “comeback” ride. Eric and I took a beautiful alternate route up Mont Salève mainly following trails instead of the road.
